Worth it if
- Your ceiling is low. Sitting beside the ball, it imposes no height requirement of its own.
- Your room is shallow. It needs no space behind you beyond your own backswing.
- You want to move it between bays, or take it to a range.
Look elsewhere if
- Two golfers of opposite handedness share the room. The sensor sits on the far side of the ball, and that side flips, so it has to be moved between sessions.
- You want a permanent installation you never touch.
Common mistakes buying a SkyTrak+
Forgetting it has to move for a left handed golfer
It sits on the far side of the ball. That side is different for a right and a left handed player, so a shared bay means repositioning and often recalibrating between sessions.
Assuming a low ceiling is fine because the sensor does not care
The sensor does not, but your driver does. Sitting beside the ball removes the hardware constraint, not the swing one.
Budgeting for the sensor alone

Measuring to the wall instead of to the obstruction
