What a golf simulator costs
The short answer
Complete packages we track run $2,620 to $34,960. That is the figure to plan against, because a launch monitor on its own is not a simulator. Then add the subscription, which is the cost nobody mentions until after the box arrives.
The three costs
The sensor. Launch monitors we track run $600 to $25,995. This is the number every buying guide leads with and it is the least useful of the three, because it tells you nothing about whether you can actually play.
Everything around it. An enclosure, an impact screen, a hitting mat, a projector and usually a computer. Buying these as a package is normally cheaper than assembling them, and more importantly it means the parts are sized to work together.
The subscription. Most sensors need a paid plan before you can play a course rather than just hit balls. Annual plans we track run $0 to $1,100. Over five years that can add more than the difference between two units you were agonising over.
The units with no subscription
Worth knowing before you compare sticker prices. These need no ongoing payment for simulation, which changes the five year arithmetic against a cheaper unit that does.

The cost that is not money
The constraint that actually stops most home builds is the room, not the budget. A shallow garage rules out an entire class of sensor no matter what you are willing to spend, and no amount of money makes a duct move. Work out what fits your room before you settle on a price.
